Annual Membership to The Scammell Register

Introduction

The Scammell Tractor Register was founded in Honiton, Devon.  The founder was Bill Bromidge along with 5 other people, these being Mr. M. Pugh, Mr P Bambury, Mr. D. Hillier, Mr. D. Hogan and the late Mr. R. Griffin.

From these humble beginnings, the Register has grown too well in excess of 300 members, in all parts of the country and around the world (New Zealand, Holland, Italy and USA being some examples).

The main aims of the Register are to record the details of members’ vehicles, and to help those members in any way we possibly can.  We also endeavour to ensure the Scammell Legend Lives On.

Membership

All equipment produced by Scammells between 1922 and 1988 (last year of production) is eligible for registration.

We must emphasise that the Scammell Register is NOT only for vehicle owners, all who have an interest in Scammells are most welcome to join.  We have many members who are non-owners, some of these are ex-Scammell employees, while others have experience with restoring or driving them, and their help has been greatly appreciated by many Scammell owners.

By joining us, you will become a member of an organisation that will do their best to assist you with information, spares and advice on Scammell products; in fact, it’s like becoming a member of a big family.

To keep our members informed, the Register produces 4 Newsletters a year.  The Newsletter contains articles on Scammells (sent in by members) and acts as a forum for members seeking advice or information.  Another useful feature is the SCAMMELL MART which members can use to buy and sell items including vehicles.

We also offer a family membership at £25 per year. This enables a family of 4 to join, receiving 1 Newsletter and 1 vote. This allows the membership to carry on almost in perpetuity as long as at least one family member renews.

Membership runs from 1st January – 31st December each year.
